Iain Campbell built musical instruments prior to studying architecture at Yale University and apprenticing in architectural design, furniture design and fine woodworking. He founded and managed Details: Furniture, a firm specializing in the design and fabrication of furniture, kitchens and wood-paneled rooms. In 1996, after graduate studies at Columbia University, he founded Iain Campbell Design, Ltd.
Ron Rowe studied fine arts at Parsons The New School for Design, then worked in store and window display for major corporations while developing his own practice in product design and interiors. He has developed a strong specialty in color and mid-century modern design. He has been working with Iain Campbell Design, Ltd. since its founding.
